12th Street Cinema
(Located on 12th and M Street) The 12th Street Cinema is newly renovated with new flooring and a new digital projector. Movies are shown each weekend, Friday nights at 7 pm, Saturdays at 7 pm and Sundays at 4 pm and 7 pm. Please call 402-694-4000.
The Alice M. Farr Library
(Located at 16th and L Streets) The Alice M. Farr library is 10,000 square feet of materials for research and leisure. Fiction, nonfiction, large print books, magazines, audio and video cassettes and film strips are available. In addition, facilities include a multimedia reference center , reference section, newspapers, computers and printers , microfilm and reader/printer, microfiche reader, genealogy research and county newspapers date back to 1877. The Leadership Center
(Located on the east edge of Aurora on Highway 34) The Leadership Center is owned and operated by the Nebraska Vocational Agricultural Foundation. The center is used extensively by the Nebraska Future Farmers of America for leadership training, seminars and contests. When not in use by the FFA, the facility is available to the public for workshops, conferences, retreats, seminars, conventions, reunions and other activities. Three dormitories, the Kiewit Lodge and the new Ted Ward Lodge, combine to provide a lodging capacity of 400 at the center. The Youth Center
(Located at 1217 12th Street) The Youth Center has become a popular place for Hamilton County Youth to spend their time. Since opening their doors 10 years ago the Center offers a variety of activities including football, baseball, ping pong, skeeball, arcade games, over 200 video games on 16 TV’s, three computers, and a stereo system for the dance floor. A cotton candy machine, smoke machine, free popcorn, drinks and other donations are available at the facility. The Youth Center is open to Hamilton County Youth in grades 7, 8 and 9 on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the school year. The Frank M. Farr Senior Center
(Located at 1205 11th Street) A new 10,000 square feet facility provides services and opportunities for the over 60 population of Hamilton County. Regular activities at the center include meals every Monday through Friday, bingo, card parties, men’s breakfasts, craft classes and quilting, nail clinics, massage therapy, hearing aid representative, health promotion programs, and exercise equipment available at any time. Blood pressure clinics are held each month in various towns. We also have a transportation service that is available to anyone regardless of their age. This is available throughout Hamilton County. Meals on Wheels, outreach programs and legal services are also available.
The Bremer Community Center
(Located at 16th and L Streets) The Bremer Community Center is a multi-purpose facility. The center, built specifically to serve the community, is a self supporting facility. The center has three meeting rooms, a kitchen, a full gym, racquetball courts, locker rooms and restrooms and is home to the AACD office. The Penner Athletic Center (PAC)
(Located on west Highway 34) The Penner Athletic Center this is perfect for housing indoor athletic competitions, basketball, volleyball or any indoor sport you can think of. If interested in reserving the center for competitions, call 402-694-0110.
Giltner Public Library
(4020 N Commercial Ave.) The Giltner Public Library is open Monday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.
